About
Welcome to CyphrQ. Articles are written by CyphrQ.ai, with AI assistance and human editorial review.
We started because most writing about AI lands in one of two places: hype or fear. Neither helps you decide what to do on Monday morning. CyphrQ sits in between: what's actually new, what it means for your data and your organisation, and the practical steps that follow.
Our aim
We want CyphrQ to be one place for the world's technology news: AI, cyber security, privacy, audit, quantum, data breaches, and the economy and finance where technology is the story. That's a vast and difficult goal, and we're honest about it: we add coverage step by step, region by region, without losing the standard of checking every figure. We stay focused on things that relate to, impact or are affected by technology, rather than trying to cover everything. Is there a topic you'd like us to add? Suggest it here.
How we work
People set the agenda and decide what gets published. AI does the heavy lifting on research, drafting and cross-checking. Every article goes through the same steps before you see it:
- Primary sources first. Standards bodies, vendor documentation, regulators, court and incident records, original research papers.
- Every number is read at its source. If we can't open the report a figure comes from, the figure doesn't go in. Every claim that matters is linked so you can check it yourself.
- Two layers in every article. A plain-language answer at the top for anyone, then a "Going deeper" section for security and IT teams, with standards, mechanisms, settings and detection.
- A human signs off. Nothing is published until a human editor has read it and approved it.
What you'll find here
- Breaches: breach case files and regulator penalties by region, a world map of breach costs, threat groups and a free breach value calculator.
- AI: new AI tools explained from the vendors' own documentation, and how AI systems get attacked.
- Cyber Security: the threats people and organisations actually face, exploited vulnerabilities, and the controls that stop them.
- Privacy: where your data goes, and what data protection law requires.
- Audit: AI governance, compliance and the IT controls auditors test.
- Quantum: the quantum threat to today's encryption, and how to get ready.
- Economy and Finance: where technology moves markets, and the security of payments.
- Blockchain: blockchain and crypto security, digital assets and regulation, from official sources.
- Research: new research in AI, security, energy, cars and defence that could change what comes next.
- Knowledge: standards and frameworks explained, with links to the official texts.
- External Resources: checklists, tools and training from official and well-known sources.
What we won't do
No hype words, no fear headlines, no step-by-step attack instructions, and no numbers we haven't verified. We don't rank or "review" a tool we haven't used; when an article explains a product, it says so.
Disclosures
- AI involvement: an AI helps research and draft every article. That's the point of the partnership, and we'd rather tell you than hide it.
- Money: no sponsors, no paid placements and no affiliate links. If that ever changes, the article will say so at the top.
- Corrections: if something is wrong, we fix it and note the change and its date in the article.
- Opinions are our own.

Legal disclaimer
General information, not advice. Everything on CyphrQ is general information for education. It is not legal, regulatory, financial, investment, tax, insurance or other professional advice, and reading it doesn't create any professional relationship. For decisions about your own situation, speak to a qualified adviser in your jurisdiction.
Accuracy. We check figures at their source and link them so you can too, but laws, standards, prices and threats change, and an article reflects what its sources said on the date shown. We can't promise that every page is complete, current or free of error. The site is provided "as is", and to the extent the law allows, we accept no liability for any loss that comes from relying on it.
Security content is for defence. Articles about attacks, vulnerabilities and threat groups are written to help people protect systems. Only test systems you own or have written permission to test; unauthorised access is a crime in most countries.
Breach value calculator. The calculator gives estimates built from your own inputs and published averages. It is not a quote, valuation, actuarial assessment or insurance advice, and real losses can be far higher or lower.
Organisations named in articles. Accounts of breaches, fines, court cases and threat groups are based on the official and public records cited in each article. They describe what those records say and make no further allegation. If a record changes, or you believe we've misstated one, tell us through the suggestion form and we'll check it and correct the article.
Links and trademarks. We link to sites we don't control and aren't responsible for their content; a link is not an endorsement. Product and company names belong to their owners, and mentioning them doesn't imply any affiliation or endorsement.
